Beverly Jean Grandstrand, 72

Beverly Robertson, 72, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 28, 2025 at North Star Manor in Warren, MN.

Beverly Jean Grandstrand was born on November 16, 1952 in Warren, the daughter of Gordon and Lila (Nelson) Grandstrand.  She was raised in rural Stephen, MN and she graduated with the class of 1970 from Karlstad High School in Karlstad, MN.  After high school, she attended and graduated from AVTI in 1971. Beverly moved to Warren where she worked at the Marshall County Courthouse.  It was in Warren that she met a young man by the name of Mark Robertson from Argyle and they started dating.  Beverly went back to college at NDSU in Fargo, ND where she graduated with a degree in Education in 1977.  During that time, Beverly and Mark had a long distance relationship and on July 24, 1976, they were united in marriage in her home church of Salem Lutheran Church.  They made their home in Argyle.  Beverly worked at Alvarado Public School and Argyle Public School as a home economics teacher.  After her children were born, she decided to leave her job to be with her children at home.  When the children were older, she went back to work at Argyle State Bank which became United Valley Bank.

She had a great love of her church.  Bev was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was involved with WMF, Bible study and Sunday School.  She was also a member of Argyle Garden Club and Argyle Historical Society.

Bev had many enduring relationships with family and friends.  She enjoyed her coffee time every morning at the Argyle Hope Center.  Some of Bev’s hobbies included reading, gardening, playing cards and doing puzzles.

Grateful to have shared in her life are her husband, Mark; two children, Tracy Robertson of Maple Grove, MN and Brian (Meghan) Robertson of Perham, MN; two grandchildren, Maija and Laura; siblings, Marilyn Grandstrand, Vera (Terry) Rowell, Russ (Judy) Grandstrand, John (Denise) Grandstrand and Karyn (Roger) Santl and many nieces and nephews. 

She was a preceded in death parents, Gordon and Lila Grandstrand and her parent-in-laws, William and Lucille Robertson.       

FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Our Savior’s Free Lutheran Church in Argyle, MN.

VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Monday at Our Savior’s Free Lutheran Church in Argyle and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church.

INTERMENT: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle, MN
