Linda Marie Swenson-Cottle, 81
February 11, 2025
Linda Marie Swenson-Cottle was born February 24, 1943 to Charley N. Swenson and Alma Carolina Lund-Swenson in Grand Forks, North Dakota in a world of dark war. That didn’t scare or stop Linda, as she was peace and joy in the early years of her life on the Charley Swenson Dearwood Township Minnesota Farm (up North) with brothers Nordie, Charles, and Thomas. Growing up on the farm gave Linda plenty to care for and love like pets Rover, Puggie, Sam and a crazy canary. The family moved from the farm to the town of Karlstad, which gave Linda new friends like Faye, Diane, Roxine, Charlotte, Patsy, and others. They were friends for life no matter the circumstances. The family moved to New Mexico, where Linda graduated high school and then on to California. Linda met her husband Bill Cottle at work, and they were devoted to her lifetime. This union became Linda’s world of joy, strength, and love with the births of her children Dana the oldest daughter, son William Sean, and Gale the youngest daughter. She also raised her stepson, Adam, like her own. She raised her family in the Lutheran church. Her faith was strong, and she was at peace with her Lord. When life’s circumstances challenged Linda, they were met with her courage, grace, dignity, kindness, faith, and love. Some may say that Linda had a good and long life, but for those who knew her it was not long enough. Linda passed away on January 20, 2025, leaving us her love and fond memories.
