Obituary/Corienne Marie Jacobson, 79

Corienne Marie Jacobson was born on December 4, 1945 in Warren, MN. to Arthur and Alyce (Kittelson) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bethesda Lutheran church in Strandquist, and attended school in Strandquist where she graduated from in 1963. Following school she worked at the Thief River Falls Hospital until attending college, and the University of North Dakota where she earned an Associates of Arts degree. She was united in marriage to Wayne Jacobson on September 4, 1965 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist. She made their home in Thief River Falls where she worked for social services. She and Wayne moved to Washington where she worked in Civil Service before moving back to Thief River Falls where she was employed at Arctic Cat. They then moved to Stephen, MN where she worked at the lumber yard, Merv’s Red Owl, and Earl Benson road construction. They then moved to Karlstad when she and Wayne purchased and operated Karlstad Hardware Hank. She was employed at the Karlstad Bank for 25 years when she retired. Corienne passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 24, 2025 due to a motor vehicle accident.
Corienne was a past member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist and a current member of First Lutheran Church in Karlstad, The Karlstad American Legion Auxiliary, a past Lions member and a past member of the Karlstad Rescue Squad.
She enjoyed singing and playing at many churches in the area, going on motorcycle and Ranger rides with Wayne and camping at Warroad for 17 years as well as local campgrounds.
She is survived by her husband Wayne; her sister–in-law, Diane (Ken) Lund; special friends: the Regalado and the Hanson families; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services were held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 3, 2025 at First Lutheran Church, Karlstad, MN.
Interment was in the Karlstad City Cemetery.
