Lois “Nanny” Kay Klegstad, 74 Lois “Nanny” Kay Klegstad, 74

Lois “Nanny” Kay Klegstad, 74, of Lake Bronson, MN, passed away on July 29, 2025, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Lois was born on September 13, 1950, to Wesley and Frances (Rice) Hawk. She grew up and went to school in Lake Bronson, MN. She spent most of her youth there, until her parents bought a café in Badger, where she finished out her high school career.
Lois worked as a car hop for her parents at their drive in, called Riverside DriveInn. It was while she was working there that she met Ronald Klegstad. The two began dating and eventually, on April 10, 1971, they got married. They were together until Ron’s passing on November 4, 2013.
Over the years, Lois spent time working as a CNA in the Karlstad nursing home, at Arctic Cat, and eventually at Marvin Windows for over 30 years as a forklift operator. In her free time, Lois liked to spend time baking. She loved flowers and music – you’d often see her tapping her toes or clapping along to a beat, no matter the song. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Eventually, Lois was blessed with several grandkids and great-grandkids, and she especially loved to spend time with them. Her biggest worry in life was, “Where and when are we eating?”  Lois was well loved in the community, picking up the nickname “Nanny” over the years because she acted as a grandma to everyone, even the kids who weren’t her own. She will be missed by many.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Traci (Daryll) Foss of Lake Bronson, MN; grandchildren, Tyler (Catrina) Foss, of Shelby, MT, Savanah (Dustin) Strand of East Grand Forks, MN, Lacey (Barik) Williams of Fargo, ND, and Courtnie Foss (Brady Bulger) of Red Lake Falls, MN; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Kaidence, Oakley, Tate, Iversyn, Jagger, and Ronni; and sister, Marjorie Hawk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Frances Hawk; her brother, LeRoy Hawk; and her husband, Ronald Klegstad.
A funeral service for Lois will be held on Monday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Covenant Church in Lake Bronson, MN. Visitation will be held at Austin Funeral Chapel in Hallock on Sunday, August 3 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.
