Obituary/LeJean Nora Anderson Christiansen, 77
September 08, 2025
LeJean Nora Anderson Christiansen, 77, of Karlstad, MN died Thursday, August 28, 2025, at her home in Karlstad. Jean was born September 28th, 1947, at Kittson Memorial Hospital in Hallock, MN to Leo V. and Donafae (Bronson) Anderson.
She was Baptized at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma. Jean was confirmed at East Emmaus Lutheran Church and upon its closing, attended Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson where she has been a faithful member since.
Jean graduated from Karlstad High School in 1965. She attended four years of school at Morehead State College and worked at Gate City bank in Fargo, ND. She moved back home to the farm in 1987. She worked at the Kittson Memorial Nursing home for one year where she received Nurses’ Aid of the year. Jean then went on to work at both American Federal Bank and Northwestern State Bank in Hallock (which were perfect jobs for her because she loved to count money). After selling the family farm to nephew Todd Truedson in 2019, she lived out the rest of her life in Karlstad, MN.
Jean was a farmer at heart and her dad often called her his right-hand man. She loved all of her animals, including her cows, horses and the many lambs she bottle-fed (up to 8 lambs at one time). She was an excellent seamstress, making many of her own clothes in her younger years and spending her later years quilting and crocheting. Although Jean was a homebody, you could find her playing bingo or at the Casino.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Leo V. and Donafae (Bronson) Anderson and her brother in-law, Thomas Truedson. Left to mourn her loss are her siblings, Leonel (Jane) Anderson, LaDonna Truedson, Bonnie (Luther) Peterson, and James (Denise) Anderson, along with her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson, MN. Visitation will be held at the church for an hour before the service. Arrangements by Austin Funeral Home, Hallock.
