Obituary/Delores Linder, 97

Delores Emma Linder 97, of Strathcona, MN went home to be with God  and her loved ones who have been waiting for her in Heaven on April 26 2026 at the LifeCare Greenbush Manor with her daughter by her side.

 Delores Emma Linder was born on June 15, 1928, in Karlstad, MN, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Bengtson) Schey of Strandquist. MN. She grew up and went to school in Strandquist, MN.  On  December 11, 1947, she married her only love, Arthur Linder. They moved to Strathcona, where they made their home and raised their children, David, James, Danny, Debbie, and Janell, and a few more kids that she took under her wing through the years.

 Delores worked at the Land O’ Land Turkey Plant for 22 years. She loved working in her vegetable garden and in her beautiful flower beds. On occasion, she would go with Art to the race track and spend time with him there. Some of the things she really enjoyed doing were going fishing at the Roseau River and at Lake Bronson, playing card games, Yahtzee, Phase 10 , and Scrabble with the kids and grandchildren. She had so many talents, including carpentering, crafts, and singing. She would be singing “He Touched Me” at the top of her lungs whenever she vacuumed. You could always find a jigsaw puzzle on the card table in the living room. She also upholstered furniture for many people that she did in her home. She made the most delicious buns, which were loved by everyone. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved to decorate the house for the holiday.

Survivors include her daughters Debbie Linder and Bruce Torkelson of Twin Valley, MN, and Janell Linder of Magnolia Texas.  Sisters Verna Rood formerly from Thief River Falls, MN, and Beverely Borsvold, formerly from Strandquist, MN, daughters-in-law Henrietta Linder and  Toni (Linder) Black, 20 Grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and special friend Nick Lorenson.

 Preceded in death by her husband Arthur Linder, sons David Linder, James Linder daughter-in-law Joni  (James) Linder, and Danny Linder, grandchildren Jordan Linder, Jasmine Linder, Heather Marie Hornbeak, Dustin (Linder) Black, David Scott Knutson, and Johnathan Linder. Her parents, Henry Schey and Emma (Bengtson) Schey, one brother, Orville Schey, and sisters Hazel Anderson, Ethel McWhirter, Harriet Olson, Doris Olson, and her friend Joyce Ryden.

 Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, May 4, 2026 at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Strathcona MN.

 Visitation will be held after 5PM, Sunday, at Collins Funeral Home in Greenbush with a prayer service at 7PM.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church.

 Interment services will be held at Pauli Lutheran Cemetery in Pelan following services.
