Sally Fay Erickson, 82
Sally Fay Erickson, Age 72, died Thursday November 9th, 2023 at home in Lake Bronson, MN.
Sally was born on December 28th, 1950 at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN to Floyd and Junis (Sorter) Tanner. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Middle River and grew up on the family farm in Cedar township and attended school in Middle River, MN where she graduated in in 1968. She attended Thief River Falls Area Vocational Technical School graduating in 1969 with a degree in Business Education.
Sally was united in marriage to Jim Erickson on April 14th, 1973. Sally worked at Artic Cat in Karlstad until their closing, the Karlstad Nursing Home as an aide for several years as well as the US Postal Service as a clerk for over 20 years. Sally’s passion was flowers and was the owner of Jim’s Greenhouse which she operated for over 35 years until her retirement, but her most enjoyable treasures were her grandchildren, and she would be seen at most of their events, from sports to school.
Sally is survived by her husband Jim Erickson, son, Deric ( Kim Johnson-fiancé ) Erickson, Halma; daughter Jenica ( Jon) Swenson, Lake Bronson, MN. Grandchildren, Sierra (Jacob) England, Hawthorne, CA; Brita Swenson, Lake Bronson, MN; Braxton Swenson, Lake Bronson, MN; Bradyn Swenson, Lake Bronson, MN and Dannica Erickson, Halma, MN. Siblings, Betty Moen, Thief River Falls, MN; Archie (Sally) Tanner, Glyndon, MN; Gary (Opal) Tanner, Middle River, MN, Ruby Tanner, Strandquist, MN, sisters-in-law, Jean Erickson, Lake Bronson, MN; Phyllis Klegstad, Lake Bronson, MN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sally is preceded in death by a son Jaime Erickson, her parents, Floyd and Junis Tanner, in-laws Elmer and Myrtle Erickson, brothers-in-law Marvin Moen, Dale Klegstad, and Rodney Erickson.
Sally’s private graveside service and burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Lake Bronson, MN on Wednesday, November 15th at 11am.
