NW RIC BOARD MEETING

December 4, 2023

NW RIC Board members present included Matt Nordin, Mindy Dunrud, Holly Burkel, Cari Dostal, Tim Hruby and Tera Nordby. Also present Special Education Director Kim Johnson and Assistant Director Becky Levenhagen, Superintendent Kevin Ricke, EA representatives Jeri Nomeland, Molly Spindler and Jeremy Sollund.

Chairperson Nordin called the NW RIC Board Meeting to order.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the agenda as presented. Moved by Burkel, seconded by Dunrud. Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the October 2, 2023 regular business meeting. Moved by Nordby, seconded by Dostal. Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the 2023-24 employment contract with Stephanie Baumgartner from .8 to 1.0 FTE to include additional ASD Consultant service time effective September 5, 2023. Moved by Nordin, seconded by Hruby. Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the November board bills in the amount of $31,987.12 and December board bills in the amount of $16,082.54. Moved by Burkel, seconded by Dostal. Motion Carried.

Tracee Bruggeman from Brady, Martz and Associates presented the audit overview for FY23

Special Ed Director reported on connectED Professional Development, December 1 Child Count, CEM Update (Goodridge), Cash Flow and Cash Expenditures.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the Northwest Regional Inter-District Council 2022-23 Audited Financial Statements as presented by Brady, Martz and Associates. Moved by Hruby, seconded by Nordin. Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the negotiations agreement with NW RIC certified staff, 4% increase for 2023-24 school year and 3.5% increase for 2024-25 school year for both salary and insurance. Additional language change to include AFLAC under the insurance umbrella and Earned Sick and Safe Time under Sick Leave (due to MN Statute change) and an increase in meal allowances. Moved by Burkel, seconded by Nordin. Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the negotiations agreement with NW RIC Business Manager, Karen Rolland, 4% increase for the 2023-24 school year and 3.5% increase for the 2024-25 school year for salary. Insurance stays the same. Moved by Nordin, seconded by Nordby. Motion Carried.

Motion was made by Burkel to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Dunrud. Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned.

The next regular NW RIC Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
