Lois Pankratz, 83,

Lois Pankratz, 83, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1941 in Hallock, MN, to Willard and Helen Elfstrom. She grew up in McKinley Township in rural Lancaster and attended the Lancaster Public School.
After graduating from high school, she attended and graduated from North Central Bible College, where she earned her Religion Education degree. She spent her college years working as a dental assistant and traveling the states and even Canada with a singing group. She met Roger in college, and they were married on June 15, 1963 at the Lake Bronson Covenant Church. They chose this location, as it was where Lois’ parents were married as well.
They then moved to Rolette, ND, where Roger was a teacher and Lois worked as a secretary at the local hospital until their first son, Van, was born. Later they moved to Ivanhoe, MN, where their second son, Jay, was born. Their next move to Waubun, MN, is where their third son, Ira, was born. They finally established roots back in Kittson County in 1979. During those years, Lois filled her days selling Tupperware, driving bus for both Lancaster and Hallock schools, hobby farming, playing the piano, singing with her husband, and of course, homemaking and being a mother.
Lois touched many lives with her cheerful and encouraging personality. She loved being a witness for Jesus whenever and wherever she could. It gave her great joy to share the word of the Lord with people. Through good times and band, she always kept a positive outlook on life.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Pankratz; three sons, Van (Beth), Jay (Danielle), and Ira (Francie); sister, Corliss (Mel) Erickson; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Lois will be held on Tuesday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Hallock. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to the service.
