Deborah K. Nordine, 70 Deborah K. Nordine, 70

Deborah K. Nordine,70, lost her battle with lung cancer early morning August 16, 2024. She passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Deb was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and a friend to everyone. She had a kind heart and was always a very giving person. Deb was born in Hallock, MN, August 13, 1954, to Dale and Myrtle Bronson. She attended school in Hallock, MN, where she graduated in 1972. She met her husband, Dan Nordine, the previous year. They were married in Denver, CO on April 15, 1972. They were blessed with their first child, Jason, in July of 1972, second child, Sarah, in January of 1976, and their third child, Amanda, in February of 1980. Dan and Deb celebrated 52 years of marriage before she passed. Deb attended college in Crookston, MN. She had numerous jobs in her life including being a CNA at the Karlstad Nursing home and working with her husband and in-laws at the North Star News in Karlstad, MN until they sold the business and moved out to Montana. When Dan and Deb returned to the area, she worked at Marvin Windows until she found her career at the United States Border Patrol in Pembina, ND. There she worked for 21 years until she retired in 2021. After retiring, Deb lost her son suddenly in June of 2022. The same year she was diagnosed with lung cancer and ended up losing her eyesight due to glaucoma and the effects of the cancer treatments. The cancer went into remission for around 8-12 months. Unfortunately, the cancer came back stronger. Deb made the decision to stop the treatments as it would have been too hard on her. Her family brought her home where her grand-daughter (Hailey) and two daughters took care of her with the help of Kittson County Hospice until her passing. Deb is survived by her husband Dan, daughter Sarah Cox (Karlstad, MN), daughter Amanda Westervelt (Karlstad, MN), brother Clayton (Cindy) Bronson (Drayton, ND), brother Larry Bronson (Badger, MN), Daughter in-law Brandy Nordine (Newfolden, MN), and her grandchildren Katrina (Nate) Heart, Zachary Nordine, Logan Nordine, Quinten Nordine, Zane Cox, Ian Cox, Hailey Westervelt, Wyatt Westervelt, Dorothy Westervelt, and Raelynne Nordine.
