NW RIC Board members present included Matt Nordin, Mindy Dunrud, Holly Burkel, Rozlynn Johnsrud, Cari Dostal, Kurt Stenberg, Tera Nordby and Mark Johnson. Also, present Special Education Director Kim Johnson and Assistant Director Becky Levenhagen, Superintendent Barb Muckenhirn
Chairperson Nordin called the NW RIC Board Meeting to order and established a quorum was present.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the agenda as presented. Moved by Nordin, seconded by Dunrud. Motion Carried.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2024 regular business meeting. Moved by Burkel, seconded by Dostal. Motion Carried.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the May board bills in the amount of $39,096.16 and June board bills in the amount of $22,122.72. Moved by Johnsrud, seconded by Dostal. Motion Carried.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the resignation of Molly Spindler, School Social Worker, effective June 7,2024. Moved by Nordby, seconded by Johnsrud. Motion Carried.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the employment of Elizabeth Brandon, ECSE Teacher, effective July 1, 2024. Moved by Nordin, seconded by Nordby. Motion Carried.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the employment of Jodi Bendickson, DAPE Teacher, Teacher of the Physically Impaired, and Assistive Technology Teacher for up to 20 days for the 2024-25 school year. Moved by Johnson, seconded by Burkel. Motion Carried,
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the employment of Deb Davidson as a .64 FTE Teacher of the Blind/Visually Impaired for the 2024-25 school year. Moved by Dostal, seconded by Dunrud. Motion Carried.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the FY25 NW RIC Roll-Over Budget. Moved by Nordin, seconded by Burkel. Motion Carried.
Special Ed Director reported on MASE Conference, MDE Special Education Pipeline Grant Update, August back-to-School Schedule. August schedule: CPI Training – Aug 13, 14, & 15, New Teacher Training – August 19, NW RIC Fall Workshop Days – August 20, 21, & 22, NW RIC Staff work in districts or Office – August 27, 28 & 29. Cash Flow and Cash Expenditures.
BE IT RESOLVED to approve the Designation of an Identified Official with Authority for Education Identity Access Management: The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), Professional Educator Licensing Standards Board (PELSB), and Office of Higher Education (OHE) require annual designation of an Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) for each local education agency that uses the Education Identity Access Management (EDIAM) system. The IOwA is responsible for authorizing, reviewing, and recertifying user access for their local education agency in accordance with the State of Minnesota Enterprise Identity and Access Management Standard, which states that all user access rights to Minnesota state systems must be reviewed and recertified at least annually. The Identified Official with authorize user access to State of Minnesota Education secure systems in accordance with the user’s assigned job duties and will revoke that user’s access when it is no longer needed to perform their job duties. The Director recommends the Board authorize Kim Johnson, kjohnson@nwric.com, and EDIAM user ID of kejohnsonnwric to act as the Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) for the Northwest Regional Interdistrict Council (NWRIC), ISD #382-52, effective July 1, 2024. Moved by Johnson, seconded by Nordin. Motion Carried.
Motion was made by Burkel to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Nordin. Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned.
The next regular NW RIC Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
