NW RIC BOARD MEETING August 5, 2024

NW RIC Board members present included Matt Nordin, Mindy Dunrud, Holly Burkel, Kurt Stenberg and Mark Johnson.  Also, present Special Education Director Kim Johnson and Assistant Director Becky Levenhagen, Superintendent Derek Gieske 

Chairperson Nordin called the NW RIC Board Meeting to order and established a quorum was present.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the agenda as presented.  Moved by Nordin, seconded by Stenberg.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the June 3, 2024 regular business meeting.   Moved by Johnson, seconded by Burkel.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the July board bills in the amount of $46,513.70 and June board bills in the amount of $4,864.38.  Moved by Burkel, seconded by Stenberg.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the resignation of Stephanie Baumgartner, Occupational Therapist/ASD Consultant, effective August 19,2024.  Moved by Dunrud, seconded by Johnson.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the employment of Anna Sikorski, Student Support Professional, effective August 20, 2024.  Moved by Nordin, seconded by Stenberg.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the negotiations agreement with Becky Levenhagen, Assistant Special Education Director, 4% for the 2024-25 school year and 3.5% for the 2025-26 school year for salary and benefits.   Moved by Burkel, seconded by Nordin.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the negotiations agreement with Kim Johnson, Executive Director, 4% for the 2024-25 school year and 3.5% or the 2025-26 school year for salary and benefits.  Moved by Nordin, seconded by Burkel.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the contracts/agreements for the 2024-25 school year (Contract Grid).  Moved by Dunrud, seconded by Stenberg.  Motion Carried.

Special Ed Director reported on NW RIC Staffing Assignments for 2024-25, CPI Training – Aug 13, 14, & 15, New Teacher Training – August 19, NW RIC Fall Workshop Days – August 20, 21, & 22, Regional Paraprofessional Training – August 22, NW RIC Staff work in districts or Office – August 27, 28 & 29, and Cash Flow.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the adoption of the following policies:  102-Equal Education Opportunity; 413-Harassment and Violence; 416-Drug and Alcohol Testing; 418-Drug-Free Workplace and Acknowledgement Form; 419-Tobacco-Free Environment; 524-Internet, Technology, and Cell Phone Acceptable Use and Safety Policy; 709-Student transportation Safety Policy; 806-Crisis Management Policy.  Moved by Nordin, seconded by Johnson.  Motion Carried.

BE IT RESOLVED to approve the annual review of the policy #722 – Public Data Requests and Public Data Request Form.  Moved by Burkel, seconded by Dunrud.   Motion Carried.

Motion was made by Burkel to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Nordin.  Motion Carried.  Meeting adjourned.

The next regular NW RIC Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
