Becket Grayson Folland
Becket Grayson Folland was born in Grand Forks, ND, on March 7, 2014, to Raechelle and Kyle Folland. He died on October 25, 2024, near his family farm in Karlstad, MN. Becket was the youngest of three boys. Family was very important to him. He loved his mom, dad, and brothers (Logan and Jase) sooooo much. Jase and Becket had a unique bond. They were Irish twins that were the same age for a week every year. Becket cherished those 7 days, and Jase despised them! Becket was always the caregiver and the glue of our family. When the boys were home alone, Becket would always say, “Don’t worry, I will feed Logan and Jase.” Logan loved tomato soup, but he did not know how to make a grilled cheese. Becket always made sure that he made one for Logan.
Becket left us way too soon. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His smile would light up a room, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was very talented in drawing, painting, and cooking. He was always searching for recipes online and wanting to try new things. Becket could do anything he set his mind to. He had a special obsession for anything pandas or bulldogs.
Becket loved all things sports. He loved football, basketball, baseball, and golf. Our family practically lived in the gym. Becket loved watching sports highlights on TikTok. His favorite teams were the Timberwolves and Vikings.
Becket loved to hunt. He spent many hours in the deer stand with his dad. You did not have to ask him twice to wake up at 5 a.m. to help set up goose decoys and lay out in the wheat stubble. He loved shooting bb guns at pop cans with his brothers. Becket was a great fisherman. We spent many hours fishing together at our gravel pit or in Lake Bronson.
Becket attended 5th grade at Tri-County School. He was well known for his kindness to all. Becket had a huge heart; he never wanted anyone to feel left out. His family attended First Lutheran Church in Karlstad. He received his first communion last spring.
Becket will always be loved and cherished by many; his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Becket is survived by his parents, Raechelle and Kyle, and brothers, Logan and Jase. He is also survived by his immediate family: grandparents, Joyce and Jeff Folland, Ron and Shirley Bye; great-grandfather, Lee Folland; aunts and uncles, Renae (Dave) Greene Lueck and Rolan (Donna) Bye; cousins, Kylar (Tuesday) and Karsen Greene, Aiden and Amelia Bye; and godparents, Gretchen and Blake Guetter.
A special thanks to our family and friends who have helped us so much. Our community has been so amazing in showing us so much love and support.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Karlstad High School gym. In memory of Becket, the family asks that everyone honors Becket’s love of hunting and sports by wearing camouflage, Northern Freeze, or sports related clothing to his service.
